Excessive amounts of alcohol may lead to the shutdown of critical areas in the brain that control heart rate, temperature, breathing, and other vital processes which may result in death. Team DRINK's goal is to discover the mechanism in which ethanol, a harmful chemical in alcohol, causes these effects and pave the way for future treatments for acute alcohol poisoning.
